One Tired Pooch
Trixie was so tired on the trip home that she slept most of the way. She laid on a pillow between the front seats with her head hung over the vent and snoozed away.
When I drive she wants to be in my lap but she is too active for me to feel safe having her there. I usually have her in the crate, either in the passenger seat or braced between the seats so she can see us. She doesn't like to be left out of anything we do.
I had wanted to get a boxer rather than a papillon. I am so glad my husband talked me out of a big dog. She is so much easier to take on trips.
I'm new to reading your blog, (which I really enjoy by the way) have you posted any pictures of you pup?
You remind me of a good friend. He's 6' 2", a fireman and an overall big guy. (Karate, hunting, weightlifter, etc.) When his 3 yr daughter got a new puppy he begged, pleaded and tried to bribe her not to name the pup "Cuddles." All to no avail. So here he is, early in the mornings, on the porch waiting for the dog to come in and he's calling this 10 lb ball of fluff, "Here Cuddles!" for all his neighbors to hear. It was the most hilarious thing to me. I still laugh when I think about it.
My scottie will lay on the arm rest in the front sometimes, too. The rest of the time she's anchored to my left thigh as I drive down the road.

I have a story on her name that I was planning on writing. Involves PetSmart.

That dog is conked out! One of my son's very favorite dog breed is papillon!
ReplyDeleteThat doggie would look really great in a pink dress...
ReplyDeleteOooh poor tired pooch!!
ReplyDelete@Jennifer, She was exhausted. I've never seen her that still for so long. Papillons are great dogs.
ReplyDelete@Lori, Unless we get her as tired as she was in the picture, I can't see her wearing a dress, regardless of the color.
ReplyDelete@Kelly I felt sorry for her, but it was funny to see her hang her head over the AC vent.
My my, what a rough doggie life. :-)
ReplyDeleteFound you on Candid Carrie.
@teri Thanks for your comments. Yes Trixie has a hard life. We don't spoil her at all. LOL
ReplyDeleteI recently found Candid Carrie and really like her site.
