Springtime in Georgia

I love all the colorful flowers we have in Georgia during spring. I love the warmer weather and sunshine.

What I don't love is the pollen. Pine, elm, sycamore, oak are all in bloom but the pine has the most pollen and it covers everything in a thick coat of yellow. Yesterday while driving I thought I saw smoke from something on fire. However, when I got closer I realized it was the wind blowing through the tree and the pollen was so thick it looked like smoke.

Then when it rained a bit the driveway looked like this: IMG_2975

No wonder I'm having sinus headaches.

You Dirty Dog!

I've previously mentioned how much Trixie likes to dig in the yard. She's small and doesn't really do much damage and other than a dirty nose and a bit of dirt on her paws she doesn't get too bad.

Trixie with a dirty face - again

Fast forward to this week. We have had rain all week. Any ground not covered in grass is a muddy mess. Trixie decided she needed to dig in a corner of the yard. She has never been so dirty.

There was a lot of dirt to remove. It is caked around her nose and mouth. There is heavy staining on her paws.

When I gave her a bath tonight, I had to shampoo her twice because her feet were so stained with Georgia red clay stain. There is still some stains on her paws.

Playing Fetch
She really is a bundle of energy.

I wonder how long she will stay clean this time.

I'm So Ready For Spring

I understand Georgia has been in a drought for several years and all the rain we've been getting is much needed. I also understand we are to to be thankful no matter what the circumstances. But in the flesh, I want warm temperatures. I want sunshine on my face and soft breezes in my hair. I want to run barefoot through the grass. I know warmer temperatures are just around the corner, but I am tired of winter.

OK enough griping for one day.

I hope you enjoy a few pictures of the flowers that are blooming in my world.

The Pounce!

Our Papillon dog and our Manx cat have a love / hate relationship. Some days, they play and chase each other having fun. Other days they fight like, well cats and dogs.

Today I was outside taking pictures of the lovely flowers that are blooming in our neighborhood, when I noticed Trixie was down in our empty pool. Until this past week she wouldn't go near it. However, our cat has always found the empty pool an interesting place to explore and I wonder if that lead Trixie to become curious and want to explore too.

Anyway, as I was taking pictures she came out of the pool. She decided to wait on Hobbes who was also down there.
Trixie Ready To Play
She wanted to pounce on him as soon as he clears the top step.
Hurry I'm excited!

I'm not sure if she was playing or taunting.
Come on let's play!

I am quiet sure Hobbes was not in a playful mood when he exited.
Whoopee, Let's play!

He didn't find her game fun.

Beat it kid, you're bothering me!

If you look closely through the bush, you can see Hobbes' right paw raised to smack Trixie. They both ran off and I can't say who was chasing whom.
I'm outta here!

I can report they are both now laying in the floor resting. So no harm no foul.

Have a nice Sunday afternoon.

Do You Love The Bible?

I didn't come up with the questions below, but they hit me right between my eyes! How about you?

I wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our cell phone.
  • What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?
  • What if we flipped through it several times a day?
  • What if we turned back to get it because we forgot it?
  • What if we used it to receive messages from it’s text?
  • What if we treated it like we couldn't live with out it?
  • What if we gave it to out kids as gifts?
  • What if we used it when we traveled?
  • What if we used it in case of emergency?
It’s getting late! Do you know where your Bible is? Oh and one more thing. Unlike our cell phone, we don’t have to worry about out Bible being disconnected because Jesus has already paid the bill and no dropped calls. There is no limit to the minutes you can use each month and it doesn't matter where you are it is always ready for you to use!

More Full Moon Shots

I used the timer to make sure there wasn't any camera movement when shooting without flash to get the full moon shots. I'm pleased with how they turned out and wanted to share them.

I couldn't eliminate the strob effect on the lense but I still like these shots.

Have a great Saturday.
