Sunday Lunch

Sunday's we usually have lunch with our son, daughter-in-law and grandson. This week we had the privilege of also having lunch with my mother-in-law. We were disappointed that my mom was unable to make it too. I love my family and love that sweet boy more every day.

He is almost five months old now and really developing a personality. I also think he is teething, as his fist, fingers or what ever is at hand goes into his mouth. I am amazed at how much of his fist he can cram into his little mouth.
Yummy Fist!

I love this one. It looks like he is asking a question. He is interested in everything and very inquisitive. I can foresee some fun times as he grows up.
What are you doing over there?

I was glad a friend was there to take a picture of four generations of our family. The picture is a bit over exposed, but I'll still treasure it.

I am loving being a grandmother.

  1. Nice family moments you've got there!

On the overexposure...do you shoot on auto or one of the programs or on manual?

  2. I used one of the Programs with iso set to 400 and must not have had the shutter speed correct.

I'm sure it would help if I'd read the manual but that would be too easy wouldn't it?

  3. I almost always shoot in aperture priority mode. That way I can pick my depth of field and then let the camera decide the shutter speed based on my exposure desired and surrounding light.

What camera do you have? Maybe I can help a bit.

    PS - I know it's saying a lot...but Photoshop is a wonderful tool.

  4. I normally use a Canon XTi DSLR, but also use a Fujifilm FinePix E510 It is much smaller and easier to stick in my pocket since there are no lenses to change.

I had Photoshop Elements on my home computer that died, and since I haven't replaced it yet, I am using Google's Picasa on my work computer for now. That is why I'd rather have a shot underexposed rather than overexposed. It is much easier to lighten than darken.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. I'm also checking at my local library to see if they are having any classes this summer. They often have very talented teachers and don't cost an arm and a leg to attend.

  5. I've got an XTi also. Our handheld does a poor job at exposing correctly, so I'll use my SLR for shots I want complete control over. I'll typically shoot with the EV just a tick above -1, so -2/3.

Do you know how to adjust the exposure compenstation?
